Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Deeds of Trust

I recently entered into a mortgage signing a Deed of Trust. The escrow company sent me the original signed documents, including the original Deed of Trust document, which should have gone to the lender.

What, if any, implications or liability does this error have for me, the escrow company, or lender? Since I currently hold the document which would be sent to me upon satisfaction of the debt, should I be worried here?

Re: Deeds of Trust

Just call the escrow company, inform them of the situation and see what they tell you. If you are correct in that they sent you unrecorded originals, then they ought to quickly arrange to pay to get it back to them, since they are liable for the error.
