Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington
Insurance Entity Pools regarding water damage
Irrigation canal leaked underground for some time and we were unaware until we had some water problems with septic system, irrigation company was aware and we filed a claim and it went to their insurance pool. They admitted it was the problem of their client but it has taken 2 years to get to this point, now we have repair bills and the insurance company who started repairs states it is now too much and they have the option now by common law to give us the lessor amount to fix the house, the house is worth $200,000 repairs came to $150,000 and now they say as the house sits its worth 100,000 damaged and so all they have to give us is 100,000 to do repairs, been to a few attorneys and they say its to complicated. The insurance Co hired the contractors and engineers to do the reports, promised us all along they were going to fix it that buying us out was never an option they would repair and now 2 years later they say they will give us the lesser amount to do repairs, we are the end of our rope with them....any suggestions of attorneys or answers, we have contacted the insurance commissioners office and they cant touch these insurance pools they are privately owned!!

Re: Insurance Entity Pools regarding water damage
You mentioned that other attorneys said the case was too complicated. I imagine they are right, but that does not mean something cannot be done.
I am guessing that the facts are very complicated, and frankly, before anyone could render an opinion on this topic, they, or at least I would need a lot more information.
