Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington
My son recently sold a truck that had been sitting for 3 years, it drove fine here and had not been used for 3 years. After the buyer took the truck to his house, over 200 miles away, he had a mechanic check it and found that the rear seals were not good. When he looked at the truck, he did not take it for a test drive and my son offered to let him drive it.
Now he is saying my son is responsible for the repairs. Is he responsible for repairs even though its used.

Unless your son made some sort of a guarantee, I'd say the buyer is out of luck. He bought it as-is, where-is, and the fact he could have test driven it or had it checked out by a mechanic ahead of time and instead chose to do so after buying it is his problem.
