Legal Question in Social Security Law in Washington

Child Support

If I marry my Fiance will the state include my income as a basis for determing his child support? He is on Social Security disability and each of his 3 kid's get $160 a month out of his $2k a month. When we get married the income will increase with adding mine so will his child support increase?

Re: Child Support

The amount of child support should not automatically change. The mother or the state (If the mother is on public assistance) can ask for an increase every three years.

Your income would only be considered if the other side asks for a deviation from the calculated child support and the court approves it.

The father could ask for a deviation too, for things such as having an unusually large amount of time with the children (extra expenses) or if you have a child come into or be born into the marriage which the father's income helps to support.
