Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington

Suspended License four times

My ex-wife was driving to town in my vehicle, and got caught speeding 60 in a 35 zone. Now her history is that she has had four prior suspended tickets, when she was pulled over they cuffed her and then did a search on my vehicle. what they found and what she told them what was in the vehicle was baking soda, ''paraphenlia''(i am not sure of the spelling), and four of my pills(for pain) I am certain that they were Vicatin. they arrested her and impounded my vehicle, I feel that they did not have the right to search the vehicle(and on the report to the court the space for probable cause is still empty), now to combat the situation, she also has a felony for possession of stolen property (which makes her a felon now).

my question is did the cops find her felony record and then that gave them probable cause to search, I feel it was an Illegal search of the vehicle. She was arrainged today on the grounds of intent to deliver, but the fact is she had baking soda, paraphelnia, and four of my pain pills. the pain pills were being held by her for me, because I have a history of taken to many pills for the pain, I experince intense pain in my back, knees, neck, etc....

Re: Suspended License four times

I've been practicing 19 years in Oregon, and my application is expected to be approved for Washington in a month or two -- but I don't need to be licensed there to tell you to GO TO A LAWYER right away. Hire one. Of course, if you're broke and NOT arrested, the state ordinarily won't provide a lawyer. But you need to hire an attorney who specializes in handling a LOT of CRIMINAL DEFENSE cases. This isn't just some traffic problem -- I assume you know how serious this stuff can be. I'm not saying you actually, necessarily HAVE any criminal exposure -- although you might -- I'm just saying I advise against posting sensitive stuff like this on the internet. You should at LEAST sit down and spend a half-hour or an hour of an attorneys time, to figure out what's going on. Good luck! --- Sam
