Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington

Tinted windows

I recently recieved a ticket for tinted windows. The cop told me that it was 22% and also the thing is I bought the car as it was so I did not modify the car's windows at all. On the ticket he wrote that it was 20% tinted. I was just wondering if someone can give me advice for the tinted windows and how i can contest it in court. Thank you

Re: Tinted windows

There are certain standards for the density of tinting on car windows in this state. The fact that you bought the car in it's present condition is no excuse for the violation, it just means that the prior owner didn't get stopped. You need to contact a reputable auto glass company that does tinting to check the standards and get your windows looked at by them. Then you need to contest the infraction by checking the third box down and mailing the ticket in before the deadline stated on the back of the infraction. Depending on where you live and where the infraction is going to be heard, i.e., what court, I could assist you in this matter. Please contact me if you so desire as I have extensive traffic defense experience.
