Legal Question in Veterans Law in Washington
ptsd claim
I am still waiting for a rating decision for my ptsd claim I filed in oct. 2008 I have been receiving treatment since august of 08 and am still currently. Is it a good idea to send the regional office copies of my appointments? or do they periodicly check my va records? what im saying is do I have to keep informing them of my treatment and perscriptions?

Re: ptsd claim
Your claim before the VA is based on the evidence that was submitted with the claim as well as your medical records at the VA. The backlog of claims at most regional offices is about 6 months. This is based on the sheer number of claims that have been filed in the last 18-24 months.
Hang in there you will get an answer shortly. You don't have to keep reminding them as long as you believe that they have received all pertinant information for your claim.
Good luck!
