Distribution of a testimentary trust

I am trustee of a testimentary trust established by my late husband. I would like to change the trustee-ship to our two sons. Will this trigger a gift tax? Will this trigger income tax? Can I do this by changing my name as trustee to their names and dividing the trust account into two parts?

It is impossible to answer that question without reviewing the trust. You should have a competent attorney review the trust language.
