Re: Trustee Role in Bankruptcy
I don't know what a Chapter 6 bankruptcy is? Did you mean a Chapter 7 bankruptcy? The trustee in Chapter 7 distributes the funds collected to the creditors who have filed claims and pays administrative expenses. Then, the transactions are reported to the Court and a discharge is usually issued. The trustee also has the power to take possession of assets which are not exempt, and to conduct a thorough search for these assets.
