Legal Question in Immigration Law in West Virginia
I have been married for 7 years. I have my greencard for almost 2. When can I apply for citizenship?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If you are married to a US citizen, and obtained a green card through this US citizen spouse, then you might be eligible to apply for USA citizenship in about 1 year (3 years starting from the date of issuance of your permanent resident card/green card).
You can file the Naturalization application 3 months prior to your 3-year anniversary, assuming that you meet all other naturalization/Citizenship requirements.
