can they just garnish payroll when i have three kids?

I singed my name to a car note,which the person stop paying note.they are garnishing my payroll check.I can't afford with three kids and bills.

That's the point of having a co-signer - they want some insurance in case the other person defaults. Lesson learned - don't co-sign. If the other person still has the car - sue them to get the car returned to you so that you can sell it which can help you lower your debt. You can go to court and get this done.
