Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Wisconsin

can i repossess?

I took a loan out for a friend to get a vehicle. The vehicle is in my name until it is paid off. She has been a little late on paying before, but now is going to be about 23 days late. I told her I had to have the payment by the 15th, (which would be the 23rd day). If she does not pay me then, do I have the right to repossess the vehicle? I just bought a home and can not afford to carry her any longer when she is late. If she is any later than the 15th, I will not be able to make my house payment. What can I do in this situation? She is very manipulating and says that in wisconsin I can not repossess until she is 2 months late and that she will take me to court if I do it any earlier. I can't wait 2 months, or I will be in financial trouble with my home. Please help me.

Auto Repossession

If an auto loan is properly secured, the lender may sometimes be able to reposess via a replevin lawsuit in small claims court. You need to retain and attorney who can investigate whether or not your lien is properly perfected and advise you as to the next step.
