Small Claims Court--Claim for $200 by Former Girlfriend

Small claims suits have no minimum amount in WI (although they currently have a $5,000.00 maximum). If a person feels that it is worthwhile, he or she can sue for fifty cents in WI. No particular documentation of a small debt is required, meaning that a mere "he said, she said," can suffice. In a small claims trial, the judge or court commissioner can enter judgment in favor of the plaintiff any time the plaintiff has proven that the debt probably existed.
