Re: Father not paying Child support

If a party is not paying child support, the recipient can file a Notice of Motion and Motion for Remedial Contempt and have a hearing held before the court. The court can, at that hearing, require the payor to make catch up payments and even sentence that person to jail with huber privileges if the person has a job. Also, if a long period of time passes between child support payments, the District Attorney's office can get involved and other penalties can be imposed.

This is not legal advice. This is an answer to a general question without all the facts being present. Please contact me at (262) 642-4368 to discuss this further. Victoria A. Oleniczak
