Legal Question in Immigration Law in Wisconsin
If I have no income & I'm the sponsor for the I-864, but my parents each filed a I-864a & are above 125%,will that be sufficient? I recently graduated with my Bachelor degree and I'm working with a job developer to find an entry level accounting position. I haven't worked since 2009. Seeing how I presently live with my parents they each signed the I-864a. Will their income alone be okay, even if I'm not showing any income of my own? I do however have some child support but I would rather not list it if I don't need toI recently graduated with my Bachelor degree and I'm working with a job developer to find an entry level accounting position. Without knowing the exact financial details, I cannot confirm that USCIS or the NVC (depending on where the case is being processed) will accept your parents affidavit of support. However, if they exceed the criteria laid out in the 2014 poverty guidelines, then I assume that their I-864 would be accepted.
Since child support is not supposed to benefit you (but go towards the health & welfare of the child only), I do not believe that this would need to be reported as "income", unless you are required to report it as such for tax purposes (check with an accountant or refer to your most recent federal income tax return to see if it was declared as income).
