A class 3 felony is a serious offense punishable by more than one year in jail. As a convicted felon, you cannot own a gun nor can you vote. You can appeal to have your rights restored, however in recent times there have been few if any appeals granted, especially if it is a violent felony such as rape or robbery or the like.
