sister died without a will
My husbands sister died in 2001 without a will, she lived in Wyoming. Recently, a very close family friend died. The only will that was found is dated 1991 and leaves everything to my husband's sister. His sister never married and had no childern, '' who inherits the family friend's estate?

In order to be sure of the accuracy of my answer, I would have to see a copy of the will. Generally speaking, wills will have a provision that says something like "100% to X, but if X predeceases me, then. . . ." If the will has a provision like that, the "anti-lapse provision" will control.
Assuming that the will in question has no anti-lapse provision, I would need to know more about the will and the family friend: Does the will say which state's law will control? In what state was the will drafted? Where did the family friend live (and die)?
Assuming that there is no anti-lapse provision and that Wyoming law controls, the estate will be distributed according to Wyoming's laws of intestate succession. In other words, the estate will be distributed to members of the family friend's family.
This answer is not definitive, for as I indicated above, there are a number of variables that would need to be nailed down before I could be sure of the answer.
