Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Trinidad and Tobago

Power of attorney in Trinidad and Tobago. My husband is planning on signing a power of attorney document in Trinidad and Tobago giving his sister to act on his behalf. He refuses to discuss this with me. I would like to know if this document expires and how I can protect myself. We live in Canada does this document have any weight here? Also, if I inherit any property or money from my parents in Trinidad will it remain outside the jurisdiction of the power of attorney.

A Power of Attorney gives a person the legal authority to act for a person, as if he would himself. If your husband wants to give you nothing then the Attorney [ person with the power of attorney] can do that. I think there is a problem with communication between yourself and your husband.
