how do you terminate or end a revocable lifetime trust and change to a simple will?

Change any titles/deeds/beneficiaries/documents which are part of the trust, burn it and all copies, write a new will. If it was filed of record, file a "Termination of Trust" describing it exactly in the same place it was filed.

You would convey title to all of the assets in the trust to yourself individually. Once you have title and ownership in your individual name, you can REVOKE the trust and terminate its existence. Then, upon your death, your estate will be distributed according to your Last Will. I recommend that you get advice and counsel before you take action, as there may be issues or consequences that you have not considered in making your decision.
