when is a check payment late?
I dated & mailed a Gottschalk Dept store payment (in full) 2 days before the due date. They say that they received it late & chared me $15.00 late fee. What is the law on their check acceptance?

If they did not receive it on the date specified, then your written agreement with the store governs, and you will have to refer to that to determine whether a late fee is appropriate.
