Legal Question in Family Law in California

I can't afford a lawyer and I am trying to get custody of my daughter. The other parent has a lawyer. The other parent will not communicate with me on what they want. So my question is can I make an appointment with the other parent's lawyer to discuss sometime of agreement?

Yes if you're unrepresented you are your attorney and can agree on anything. The court has final word on any agreement.
