Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Work Injury

I am not sure what area this belongs in. I was injured at work by being struck with an opening door and ended up having to go to the ER and having stitches on my face which now left with me with a scar. The door has been a problem since I worked at this job. I am not having any problems as of now as far as getting my medical bills paid. I just wanted to know if there is anything that can be done to get the door fixed? The accident was reported to my employer and they said the door would not be fixed because of a possibility of our office moving, which as of now has not happened. Please advise if I have any rights.

Re: Work Injury

First off, you are entitled to compensation in workers compensation for time off work, the going rate is 3/4 of your salary. Secondly you are most likely entitled to payment for your scar. I assume you are being treated by your employers doctor which is often a mistake. Bottom line, you need an attorney to get you what you deserve. As far as the door, once you are represented by an attorney, I am sure it can be dealt with through a well written letter or Cal OSHEA if necessary. Give me a call and I will see what I can do to get you properly compensated and get the door fixed. Call me anytime at 818-427-6246 which is my cell phone.
