People who are married can get restraining orders against one another. Marriage has no effect on getting, or dropping, a protective order. The person who the order was to benefit can motion the court to review and modify the order. That can happen whether the parties are married or not. Hopefully, the court will agree to get the order on the docket as soon as possible.
