Re: Mother leaves child

You'll need to be more specific in order for your question to be properly answered. Is there a custody agreement between the parents? Has a court ordered the parties to proceed under a parenting plan? Generally, limited visitation by one parent is not considered "child abandonment" absent other extreme circumstances. If the mother is visiting the child "every other weekend", it is most likely not "child abandonment", but this will depend on whether there is a parenting time agreement either between the parties or ordered by the court.
