Re: child custody

I am guessing that he wants to use a lawyer because he may be concerned about being responsible for paying child support if he is not the father. In theory, if he is the father, then just like any other parent, he can try to get custody. Whether he has a chance of getting custody would depend on what is best for your son. Many factors would come into play, including your son's age, how long he has lived with you, whether you have had any problems taking care of your son, and what the father would be able to present to a judge to show that he would be a better caretaker. Please feel free to call me for more information.
