Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Want my daughter to leave

My daughter is 35 years old, has bipolar disorder and is an alcoholic. She has been living with me for the past 4 years since she was diagnosed with bipolar. She is on medication which seems to be a big help. However, her alcoholism has become the primary problem. She is on full SS disability but only receives $1000 monthly. She is financially ruined, has had several alcohol related arrests and is disruptive, cruel and doesn't help around the house. I cannot take anymore and want to move. I don't want her to come with me but anticipate trouble. What can I do?

Re: Want my daughter to leave

If you want her to leave your home you probably will have to have her evicted. You would do this by filing an eviction action in housing court.

If you want to move and leave her there, then just move. You are not responsible for her.
