Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

post divorce-ex canelled my health insur. while i wascritically is, and kept my

after 28yrs of marriage, while I was just out of hospital, he demanded a divorce, that is very complicated, my main concern is after he agreed to maintain my health insurance(very imortant due to serious pre-exsisting conditions) if I paid monthly premiums, shortly following our dvorce as my health improved i realized he had taken believable advantage, I sought legal assist. when Ex husband found out he canelled my health insurance(while i was hosp. for 5 weeks in intensive care 3 times, resp once,) no warning, in addition he continued to cash my insurance prem. sent to him, for 2 months, put me past picking up my insurance on my own, i owe hosp 200,000. I have no ins, he still has my premiums. I would very much like some one to tell me If what he has done to me is illegal, if so what laws he broke. I am trying to have judgement overturned, but i am left without health care, it isnt much diff. than him putting a gun to my head. I just want to know can he get away with this? Is there any protection for me?

If your coverage was under a group insurance policy through your ex-husband's employer, you may be eligible for COBRA. You can contact the health insurance company and inquire about COBRA. If you are eligible, you'll have to pay the full premium but it may be less costly then paying full payment of medical bills out of pocket.
