Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

If my spouse has been named in a court case for causing an accident with personal injury can he lose his social security and iras. Can the spouse also be financially libel re: pensions Ira, social security if not named in case.

The tortfeasor can be responsible for payment of a judgment and his social security can be garnished. The spouse not named should not be financially responsible. IRA accounts if properly set up would be exempt from garnishment.
