Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Contact with employees after termination

I was recentely terminated from a job because of personality conflicts between myself and the owner of the business. In a letter from the owners attorney it stated that I had to refrain from having any contact with anyone that still works there or they would sue me. Is this legal? Can a former employer threaten to sue if you have contact with other employees following termaination?

Re: Contact with employees after termination

As many have read here in the past, anyone can sue, and threaten to sue, though they may not be successful. Its possible they may have a valid claim for interference, depending on the type of employment and taking into account any agreements you may have signed. They may still take action against remaining employees, so be cautious that you don't put those remaining in a precarious position.
