Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I took my previous landlord (foreclosed on) to court to get my security deposit back, and he counter filed for apt damages (none existed). He was awarded almost $2000 with no proof. What can I do. I cannot pay this amount

Sorry. Apparently he proved that there were damages. If you have a judgment against you yoiu can appeal if there are grounds, but needed to do that within 30 days. Otherwise, it is now your debt.
