Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

Can I receive medical care from a hospital before seeing a workers comp. doctor?

I fell and injured my back on the job. Two days later I started having severe back pain and trouble breathing. The clinic they sent me to had a hour and a half wait, so I went to the hospital emergency room. The employer is stating that it was a refusal for drug

testing and that I can not see a workers comp doctor now because it is to late. I would not sign anything saying the company was not resposible for my injuries and she was upset with me. Mind you the day I needed medical attention is not the day of my injury anyway. Also I knew if I signed this paper then she would have turned around and fired me for refusing to have a drug test. In the time I was hurting this was the last thing I was thinking all I wanted to do is stop the pain. She also knows I am pregnant and I feel this and the injury combined will be enough for her to find a reason to fire me. I did not refuse a test I told her I would be glad to take one.r

You don't give me enough details of where you are in the system for me to make a specific recommendation. You need to see a workers compensation attorney ASAP.
