Legal Question in Family Law in Hawaii

Marriage annulment laws in Hawaii

My daughter was married on Maui, May 6th, 2000. There is little hope for the marriage to last due to mental abusiveness. She is living in Colorado and this is the state where she votes and works. Is annulment an option? Today's date is 07.28.00 - I would appreciate anything you can find out. Thanks.

Re: Marriage annulment laws in Hawaii

If you daughter has been resident in Colorado for 90 days, and did not give up her Colorado resident status to get married in Hawaii, she could get a divorce. Annulment is difficult to obtain. Divorce merely requires "irreconcilable differences" a very low standard of proof. See your local attorney.
