My father died in October. Every where I turn people are asking for something that says I am the executor of his estate. What do I need to do to become the executor of his estate now that he has died?

Depending on the size of your father's estate, you may be able to administer it with the help of a small estate affidavit. Such a form can be easily drawn up by an attorney.

However, generally, if your father's estate is valued at over $100,000 it must be administered through the probate court in the county in which he died.
