Legal Question in Traffic Law in Indiana
Hi, I was issued a warning for doing a speed of 78mph in a 55 zone which I thought was 50, (issued in Indiana, County of Lake and township of Calumet) and thereafter, the officer issued me a citation of "tailgating" a vehicle too closely in the left passing lane. The officer issued me a warning paper for the speeding , and he issued me , what he called a citation. I am completely confused as to what the difference between a citation and a ticket is. The paper does not say how much the fine is or if any points will be taken off my drivers licence. Is a citation a form that requests me to appear in court to testify? Is it the same as a ticket?

A citation is a ticket. Follow up with the county to determine when your case will be heard.
