Scammed and no Justice

On 8-23-05 I was looking on the Internet for a transmission for my husbands minivan (Very hard to find and expensive). Found a web site so I did a Parts request and he called me back the next day 8-24-05 said he had one for $600.00, we agreed,he said to fax him a check and the last 8 VIN #�s of the van, so I did so. Said it would take 3-4 days for the check to clear After 1 wk of checking the bank we called on 9-1-05 and spoke to Todd he said that he didn�t understand why it hasn�t cleared but he called our bank to verify funds and stated he would send it out in the morning 1st thing 9-2-05, it would take bout 5 days via trucking co.. 1 � wks later no transmission, so I start calling but now I am unable to talk to him, 25 + calls and messages, On 9-19-05 I called them to cancel the order.Well he ended up taking the money He was able to change the ck#(orig#509/changed to 1004)and endorse it to a 3rd party it says to be deposited to payee only how do you endorse a EFT.and won't pay us beck and we still have not recieved the part we needed.now he is telling us to F off. my husband had had 3 H attacks and 2 major surgey, we are unable to take him to court here and we can't afford to go there,I have 3 kids with no propane for heat.

You can file a complaint with small claims court. The fees are small and you won't need a lawyer. Also, you can report him to his local police department for theft.
