Legal Question in Employment Law in Kansas

Job Changed after accepting the position and relocated

I accepted a position as a sales director for a company that required a relocation to Kansas. Three months after accepting the position I accepted a new promotion and working agreement as Chief Technology Officer where I posted the first profits the company had seen in this area. After serving for one year I have been demoted to a down the street sales represenative. Originally I was hired to help other sales people demonstrate business software to their customers and train them in the software. The job hasn't turned into what was represented to get me to quit the job I had before as Regional Sales Director for a NY Software Vendor. Several people have suggested that I consult an attorney since the employer has changed my job title 3 times within the last 18 months. I'm currently working without any type of employment agreement and hate what I'm currently doing but must work to provide for my family. Is there anything I can do other than quit and relocate my family again?

Re: Job Changed after accepting the position and relocated

These kinds of cases really depend on specific facts. Without a contract, it is doubtful that you have much of a claim. You might claim fraudulent inducement to enter contract if employer knew that it would the demote you after bringing you on, etc. You should probably meet with a competent attorney and go over your issues.
