Legal Question in DUI Law in Louisiana

not in the car

my car was wrecked in the ditch on a dark highway late at night...noone was around to witness it...when the cops arrived i was outside of the vehicle...i claimed that someone else was driving the car and that he ran away before the cops arrived...no field sobriety tests were given and no breathalyzer test...i was arrested for dwi...any advice on what i should do?

You should speak with an attorney as soon as possible. The state bears the burden of proving that you were driving a vehicle while impaired. An attorney will be of great assistance in helping you prepare any defenses you may have.
