Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

alimony

I have been married for almost 3 years and I am 27 years old. My husband has commited adultry and has spoken to a lawyer about admitting to it to get the divorce quicker. He makes $3000 more a year than me and also gets money from the military every month. Is there any chance of me getting alimony?

Re: alimony

Alimony is very case specific. Maryland favors rehabilitative alimony, meaning its purpose is to allow the recipient to acquire skills necessary to being self-sufficient. Since it seems like you're already working and your salary is close to that of your husband's, alimony is likely inappropriate in this case.
