Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

A process server came to my door with papaers for my dad. He does not live here but the papaewrs had my adress. He has never lived here. Do I have to worry about this

Did you accept service or did you tell the server that your father has never lived there? If you accepted service, you should contact your father to let him handle it. He should file a motion to dismiss for insufficient service of process. The only problem with this course of action is that it only delays service. Once he files the motion to dismiss, the plaintiff will simply reserve him at his address.

I agree that if you accepted service on his behalf, you should let him know because if he doesn't respond they may get a default judgment against him.
