Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I have a contempt and pre-trial conference scheduled for Thursday of this week in Massachusetts Probate Court. I currently reside in Florida. My attorney also recently withdrew. I have tried filing a motion for a continuance due to being under medical care but the opposing party will not comply and my psychologist advised me not to travel or be in court in my state of mind. I have asked the court how else I can continue this case and they have been of no help. I have little money and am seeking SSI benefits. How can I go about continuing this case without the other party's compliance?

You need to file a Motion to Continue and Motion to Waive Your Appearance. Many attorneys will appear on behalf of a client for only a specific court hearing. This is known as limited assistance representation.
