Pruning your nieghbors tree

Does a nieghbor have the right to prune your tree beond

small branches. And If they prune it to endanger the trees

life are they breaking the law?

Trees cause more problems than anything else between neighbors. Property owner can prune any portion of neighbor's tree that overhangs his property line. If pruning damages tree, he may be liable-but you've got a lawuit on your hands - properly cheaper and more effective to fix yourself is neighbor won't agree to share cost. Never,Never,Never cut or destroy tree that is or overhangs public way - that is against the law. Good luck.
