Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Can I file against the store owners personally?

I worked part time at a party store, doing stock and light maintenance. They bought the biulding next door and asked me if I would tear down a wall in it? I said sure. 45 minutes into tearing down the wall I fell and shattered my ankle. Ambulance, hospital, 6months of my regular job, and a ton of medical bills later. They had no workers comp. Ins..So the question is can I file a claim against the owners of the party store personally, since they hed no workers comp. ins? This is in Michigan.
