Pharmacy gave wrong dosage

If a pharmacy gives wrong dosage of a medication, and it causes the person to become sicker, is there reason enough for legal action?

Yes, Michigan law allows for lawsuits against the pharmacy and the individual, presuming that they were the ones that made the mistake, and not the doctor writing the wrong prescription for you. However, you need to show "actual injury" - by "sicker" I'm not sure what you mean - it would have to be a serious enough injury to make it worthwhile to sue and for a court to award you damages.

The only way legal action would be worthwhile would be if the increase in sickness was substantial and medically documented. Otherwise, the case is too expensive because you still have to prove damages as the result of the wrong medication and that requires expensive, expert testimony. William S. Stern
