Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Can one spouse sue another spouse?

A couple yrs. ago I got a settlement from a car accident I was in where my husband was driving. ( no alcohol involved). My husband and I were seperated at the time, and was going to dinner. We both had our own law suits going, with different lawyers. Mine was settled 1 yr. and 8 mos. later. My husband had to sign my check because we were still married. My husbands case just went to court, and was denied for the reason, that he signed my check, which was in both of our names. According to my lawyer, it was because we were still legally married. His lawyer never said anything to him, until now, when it's to late to do anything, because the 3 yr. time span is up. Can hubby turn around and sue me for 1/2 of that settlement, even though though he was with me from the time I got the money, til it was gone? Just curious, cause he's pretty peeved that he now gets nothing... Thank You for taking your time to read this and hopefully respond....

It sounds like maybe the claim would be against his lawyer. William Stern 248-353-9400
