Suffered a colles fracture

I suffered a colles fracture about 6 months ago in a fall from some steps. I have a lawyer who seems to want me to have surgery. At the time I was injured I was told surgery would not help me it was way to scattered. I have suffered a great deal with this and after months of therapy my hand wrist and arm are still messed up. Doctors now tell me if I don't regrain full use I might want to consider surgery where they would rebreak my wrist and reset it with pins and can not say it will correct it with any certainty. My question is this. Do I have the right to refuse surgery and if I do will it affect my case?I also have ask my lawyer about paying some one to help me around the house and if I can claim that he has not answered my question on that.I have been through so much suffering with this break I could not even think of having them rebreak it now. It would be like being in an accident and some one saying lets do it all over again.

Of course you don't have to have surgery if you don't want it. The effect on your case is not important. Worry about your health first. Most lawyers doing personal injury understand that you may not only be entitled to replacement services to pay people to do chores that you used to perform, but that you also are entitled to attendant services at the going rate, even if your attendant is a relative.
