Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Michigan

Please HELP! Denied Unemployment!

I recently experienced sexual harrassment in the workplace (whistles, dates, objects being used as penis's, and also words). I confronted my supervisor about feeling uncomfortable about a certain maintenance man about a week before I quit my job and she brushed me off. Things got worse and I quit my job. Confidentiality was broken as well because the whole shop knows about everything now. I tried to sign up for unemployment. They denied me because they say the employer was trying to resolve the problems when I quit. They didn't even start investigating until after I quit though! and I did say something a week before this!! I am so upset. They said everyone at worked denied everything, even the girl who was my witness. They said there is nothing more then ''everyday talk in the shop''. I am protesting unemployment. I contacted Civil Rights, but I am so afraid because I don't want to go into mediation with this man. I am humiliated and don't want to be in the same room with him. They said I would have to do this at one point or another? Is there anything I can do about this? I am so depressed! I have typed out everything that is happen and I would appreciate someone that could read it and give me advice on what to do? Please!

Re: Please HELP! Denied Unemployment!

You may be able to appeal the unemployment ruling, either in circuit court or in front of the same hearing officer. Mediation is also a good possibility. You need to get counsel to help you these hearings. Addtionally, I could advise you on your possible sexual harassment claim. Please contact me to discuss your matter further.
