Wreckless drining on private property

I was driving home sick from work. When i got to my apt complex i was driving fast but not too fast when i was pulled over and written a ticket for wrickless driving. Can a cop pull me over for that on private property? How should i plead? And will the ticket hold u in court?

Yes, you could be pulled over by the police onto apt. complex property. Reckless is a serious ticket. I would suggest pleading not guilty and retaining an attorney to try to get a reduction.

A reckless driving ticket is a misdemeanor offense that carries 6 points on your drivers license and a possibility of 93 days in jail. Also, the MI Dept. of treasury will assess you costs of $1000 over the next two years, and that is over and above court fines and costs. If your driving record is good, chances are that an attorney may get the charge reduced to a civil infraction that carries no jail time, less points, and no fees to the Treasury Dept. The truth of the matter is that the courts and prosecutors will look more favorably upon defendants who take these kinds of tickets seriously and are responsible enough to hire legal counsel. A good attorney probably and should not charge that much to take of this for you, and you will be saving money in the long run. Good luck.
