Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan

Can they do that?!

I injured my back at work(I work in a nursing home)transfering a resident. This injury occured Sept. 19, 2002. I was pregnant at the time so we could not do any MRIs or x-rays, i worked with restrictions until just before my due date. Since then my doctor has released me to go back with restrictions(much like I was before). My employer has refused to let me return, stating they do not have any work for me. They also have stated that they are not liable and do not have to compensate me. Can they legally deny me work because of my injury and if so are they not required to compensate.
