Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

If a company paid me $500.00 dollars to much in my paid check and in doing so already took out taxes form this money can they now come back and say they want the money back even thourgh at the time I did not know that I was over paid

The proceeds can be recopuped regardless of whether you were aware of the error or not. If the money was not earned, it mustbe returned.
