Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Child custody/relocation

I have joint legal custody of my son with my ex. I recently relocated to Mn from Arizona. Went to court to request approval to relocate my son and was denied. I have raised my son and my ex has hardly been involved in his life. My son wants to be in Mn and is living in filthy conditions. He is miserable. Now my ex is not allowing visitation with my side of the family that resides in AZ either. I cannot afford another attorney to take him back to court. What can I do??? My son is coming to MN for Christmas and I am tempted to just keep him here. What are the reprocussions of doing so?? Or what can be done otherwise to get him here permanently?? My son is 11. Please help.

Re: Child custody/relocation

I think the first thing to do would be to contact your local legal aid office. I'm not sure where exactly you're located, but I know there is one in the twin cities. They can hopefully put you in the right direction.
